Chris Moneymaker started the poker boom when he came out of nowhere to win the World Series of Poker. Since then poker has enjoyed a growth in the states which has led to many more tournaments, bigger prize money, and televised events. Lots of players have even reached celebrity status. Who is your favorite? Whether it be style of play, personality, etc.
1. Phil Hellmuth (Poker Brat) All time leading WSOP bracelet winner and whiny baby.
2. Daniel Negreanu (known for his happy go lucky personality and ability to call other player's hands)
3. Doyle Brunson (known as the Grandfather of Poker or Texas Dolly, his book Supersystem changed the way hold'em was played forever.)
4. Chris Ferguson (also known as Jesus Ferguson for his beard and long hair.)
5. Phil Ivey (Many pros consider him the best in the game..known for his poker stare)
6. Mike Matusow (Also know as "The mouth" a good friend of Phil hellmuth's who is known for needling opponents to get them to make a mistake. Has made a few WSOP Main event final tables.)
7. Tom Dwan (One millions playing online at the age of 21 before taking pros money in cash games. Known for his highly aggressive style.)
8. Jenn Harmon (One of the first women on the poker circuit to make a name for herself. Regularly found playing in biggest cash games in Vegas.)
9. Antonio Esfandiari (Also know as "The Magician" recently just won the largest Poker Tournament payout ever in 2012 of $18,000,000)

Back when I was a young lad working my way through college, I worked for a development company that built a couple of homes for Johnny Chan in SoCal.. .... Nice enough guy, but his wife was a real nit-picky beyotch ....Having to listen to her yap & complain every friggin day for 3 months was enough to make man go insane

This was 20 years.. Is he even still actively playing ?? .. The dude had the life...He'd sleep until about 11am everyday & then leave to the Bicycle Club to play Poker every night around 6.... He had 7 bedroom home with an indoor swimming pool... And then we built him him a 3 bedroom "weekend" condo overlooking the ocean in Huntington Beach (that the wife complained incessantly about) ... ALL from playing cards for a living...
