it was interesting to hear the story about how his dad got his start.

Carolla is drinking too much and sleeping too little. Otherwise, he's fine and still very funny.

carolla said fine but if you wait until it takes off, you'll end up with more...ray said he did make that deal but has never received a penny. $100 a week is alot for a guy like ray & his ace on the house show/loyality etc deserves it. he's actually funny & could go on the road with carolla but carolla seems to be more attracted to bigger names & less with his old buddies...its too bad ray has quite a fan following & if they promoted him more carolla might be surprised. the end might be near tho for those two, ray ripped him pretty good during that dr drew podcast.
They've been friends for a long time and I think Carolla is an investor in Ray's contracting business so I don't think it's the end for them. I know he bankrolled one house for 100k. But who knows?

I think Ace on the House would attract more listeners and advertisers if it were more than once a week. People can drift away if they forget a show is coming on.

He seems genuinely happy for his good pal Jimmy. Carolla may not be raking in Kimmel money, but he is rich in his own right. Anyway, he's one of the 3 owners of the "Jimmy Kimmel" show so why would he resent the success of Jimmy when he financially benefits from it?

I listen to Adam while running and he is very funny and insightful. Anyone with kids and knowing his schedule can relate. Does he talk over guests and forward his agenda and rants..... Yep, not much different then Howard, but more relevant and interesting. Adam yes talks too much about his travel and aludes non-stop to jerking off, but never really talks sex or his relationship with his spouse. When he talks about Lynette I laugh and think how typical it is and no different then many middle age couples.

Allison & Brian work well with him, though at times Allison reminds me of Robin as she feels the need to interrupt/interject when not needed.

today he was talking about getting up early saturday morning, throwing on some sweats to drag his ass to his kids basketball game. he said its gotta suck being one of the hispter dads that gotta throw on the skinny jeans, tight shirts, goofy hats & scarfs just to watch their kid at the ymca on their day off. alot of people dont think that hipster douchebag commitment all the way thro.

I never wore jeans and always was in a form of sweats. His stories about Natalia & Sonny and that at their age they all think they are the best and there is no reasoning with them are bang on. His stories about his parents are a lot more honest then Howard's and the nastiness Howard heaps on his dad. He may treat them well and love them, but how he talks about them and how they screwed him up and treated him as a child is cringe worthy at times.

In addition Adam's stories do not change, whereas Howard's change daily and his childhood is now worse, he was beaten daily, but now slept with more women and was more of a ladies man then he led on. I always wonder since he met Alison at University, why he claims he as such a loser when he got women at camp, in high school and at university well before her, why he claims such a sad life.

Wiggy's Summer Camp/College/1st Radio Job cocksman stories/Penthouse Forum fantasies went full throttle retard as he became more and more sensitive to the trophy wife taunts. He's now created a revisionist history alternate reality and self-delusion that based on his now "legendary cocksman past" he could have still gotten Beff (or any other low-end Ames "model") if he was Howard the 9 to 5 cubicle troll instead of....."I am Howard A. Stern, millionaire, I own a mansion and a yacht."

Then there is the first 30min of so of each show which is nothing but complaining about airplane travel or something he did with his kids.
Word. I tried listening to one of his podcasts some months back and right at the top of it he launched into this incredibly long, deathly-dull, over the hills and through the woods tale about having to take his kids somewhere but forgetting to bring their lunches.

Are you suggesting that radio is a habitual medium?

I guess that's my problem: I'm not looking for typical. I don't need to relate to his petty problems shuttling his kids here and there and typical marital sitcom-esque situations.

    Bravo!

The only thing I'd add is I don't think it was just the trophy wife taunts that drove him to his "I was a MAJOR cocksman back in the day" lie, although that has to be part of it; I think it was also the fact that the trophy wife stopped fucking him, and it's dawning on him how thoroughly he was played.

I think he's basically trying to say to her: "Fine! Don't fuck me. I've had so much Goddamn sex I'm full, anyway!".

That kind of "thinking" fits in retardedly perfectly with my sig.

And notice he went right to "models"; what Beth really isn't but always claimed to and aspired to be. He's making that shit personal.

But a guy who's currently enjoying an active sex life just doesn't stop to brag about his nonexistent sexual conquests of 30-40 years ago. Not as desperately and as over-the-top as Howard's doing it, that's for sure.

1990s-Mick Jagger wasn't looking back on 1960s-Mick Jagger's sex life; 1990s-Mick Jagger was still fucking. Real models.
