How many jobs have you had in your life ?

I once wrote them down and it was probably 75. I hate working in sales, and if you don`t do well, you either get fired or quit. I also did allot of fast food dishwasher and busboy jobs in my teens, I include that in the total. If I could make $40,000 washing dishes I would, just because sales jobs are a dead end lately for me, in the last 15 years or so.

Not counting jobs that lasted less than 6 months (in my younger years), 5.

From age 16 to present, that's 28 years, so I guess that's an average of 5-6 years/job, which seems consistent with my generation, unlike my dad who worked at his job for more than 30 years!

4 companies. some off the books jobs when I was younger to supplement, but 4 T4 issuing companies.



I'm on about my 6th job with my current company, but that's just career progression so I'm not counting them, they are lumped under company 4.

Altogether from mowing yards on up, about 13, plus some freelance work as a photo assistant. The last 3 "real" jobs lasted 6 years each, coincidentally....

usually, it's the field of last resort for those with limited skills and/or a lack of a professional degree.

I did it, before college. It wasn't so bad, but you're right though: some of the scummiest people I've ever met in my life were in sales.

Only two full time jobs.....one for 12 years and my current for 17. I usually juggle two or three side jobs at any given time as well.

in the past 20 years I've had one employer and about 18 different job functions. before that I had 6 different jobs, all in different industries doing different things. i'm not in sales now because I was good at it without trying very hard, and because I found being good at sales addictive and I became someone I didn't like. I'm not necessarily as good at the things i've done since sales, but i think I like myself more.

we all get to the same finish line, so it's how you get there, and how you feel about the trip afterwards that matters.
