This is what the cop apologists can never comprehend.

They should be held to a higher standard and aren't. They hold peoples' lives and deaths in their hands and are empowered by the state to do so.

And they don't hold each other to a higher standard or often even a median one because no matter how much one of them crosses the line it's still "us vs them" in their minds.

And then they have their bleating apologists in the public not holding them to a higher standard or even their own lower standards because...""Oh well, you know, they have a tough job, blah-blah-blah, ect., ect...."

Nope. What I'm saying is it's impossible to weed out all of the bad people. You are never going to get them all, because we are imperfect. By the who do you think you are dealing with...how many simple things in this world are fucked up. We are not capable of what you want. I could probably be better, but take a look around the globe. I certainly don't have a problem holding cops accountable. I never said otherwise. You want me to be a cop apologist, but that doesn't 'make' me one.
The system doesn't work that well. None do. So go ahead and fix it.

This is a profession that should have no bad examples. The ideal cop is not supposed to be an asshole. So when there's so many bad examples in a profession where there needs to be total trust, we have all the right in the world to distrust them as a whole. Who knows who we're dealing with on any given interaction with the police.

Sorry but thats bullshit, if thats the case they need a different job. Their job is to uphold the law with a gun, of course they need to be held to a higher standard. Police departments recruit from the human race , some humans are good ,some are assholes. Sometimes assholes get through the screening process and become cops.

As far as holding cops accountable, they are more accountable than most. Would you get fired at your job for something you did off duty ,like one dwi, or domestic... Cops do.
