To all the cop haters: SUCK IT

Are there bad cops? Absolutely. But the majority are honest, dedicated, brave, caring and even compassionate. But we don't get to hear those stories -- the tens of thousands of interactions with cops where no one was shot, beaten or mistreated. It is like only seeing the fumbles and interceptions of every football game.

Here is a short list -- by no means complete -- of incidents that you may not be aware of from the last month or two...

No dude, you don't get it. If one cop does something bad, we have to blame all of them and go around telling everyone how much we hate them. That's what sane logical people do.

I agree with you but how the Dorner manhunt was mishandled does not help your argument.

    That is perfect.

It does seem that mostly unsuccessful people with no responsibilities carry the most hatred towards law and order.

Strangely, most of them also have an inflated sense of self-importance as well, even though they never accomplished anything. It is sort of a defense mechanism to justify their existence.

No, but all the positive references he gave that the media would never cover does.

And/or they had a bad experience with cops...which doesn't mean that they didn't deserve to be stopped/frisked/detained/arrested but the biggest reason (I feel) cops get a bad wrap is because of the few rotten eggs whose poor actions carry the longest lasting memory in some people's eyes.

Dorner was a sick killer. He said he would not be taken alive. He could have came out of the cabin with his hands in the air, and went to jail. Instead, he shot himself.

Some cops are dicks and some are not. No different than anywhere else. In general, they have dedicated their lives to public service, which is not easy, they work in dangerous circumstances, also not easy, weird hours, court, lawyers. All in all not an easy job to do. Most people who I met who "don't like cops" have a reason not to like them. Usually cause they have done something to cause themselves to be involved with the police.

Well said. Most of us could not imagine what these people deal with on a regular basis.

Has anyone ever wrestled? Even for fun?

Remember how hard it is just to pin soeone on their back? Now try to turn that person over and place handcuffs on them -- while they are squirming around for your gun and a dozen onlookers crowd in to cheer him on.

Yes, cops will kick, knee, club anyone in that situation to get them under control and get the fuck out of the situation ASAP so they can go home to their family.

I've been put in handcuffs for riding my bike on the sidewalk and also after defending myself from assault. I've also been caught with pot (twice) and once for peeing on a sidewalk.

Never was I beaten or mistreated. In fact I was released shortly after ever incident without repercussions.

You behave, police will behave 99 out of 100 times.
