That's not true... Most addicts struggling with their addiction suffer from incredible feelings of isolation.... They feel like they're the only one feeling the way they do, struggling with the things they're struggling with... The feelings of hopelessness is what eventually leads to suicide.... Seeing someone you may be familiar with on TV struggling with something that you may be able to identify with certainly could be enough encouragement for someone to seek help for themselves ...

He seems about as genuine as anyone I've seen in show business ... He's been doing that Love-line radio show (which also deals a lot with addiction) every night since '83 or '84 ... There cant be a ton of money in that.. He certainly could have walked away from that a long time ago if he was just a fame whore/money-grubber... He certainly is more genuine than the Dr Phils & Dr. Laura's who just speak in the same old platitudes every time a mic is in front of their face....
