From what I've read, over the past twenty years, ever since the riots they have gone out of their way to improve and they have gotten better in some ways, but it's still a large police force, you'll always have some knuckleheads.

I think they are just as racist as ever. But with that being said they are policing a state where gang crime is an epidemic and sometimes you gotta stoop to the level of the people you fight in order to be able to fight them.

there's dudes at the sheriff's office makin' $200k a year pulling overtime on prison duty. plus everything else.

Kelly Thomas (April 5, 1974 – July 10, 2011) was a homeless man diagnosed with schizophrenia who lived on the streets of Fullerton, California. He died five days after an altercation with members of the Fullerton Police Department on July 5, 2011. After paramedics treated the officers first for their minor injuries,[2] Thomas was taken to St. Jude Medical Center before being transferred to the UC Irvine Medical Center, where he was comatose on arrival and not expected to recover. He never regained consciousness, and died on July 10, 2011.[3]
