GREAT point, there's ZERO upside for a celeb to "book themselves". How often do you hear Howard/Gary bababackwardly bragging about how so and so has been calling to get on for years, and they're ALL too cool for the room saying no so we can hear Debbie the Pet Lady and Brooke Hogan for the entire week.

Last week when Bubba the Love Sponge's lawsuit was finalized. Howard said Bubba wanted to come on and discuss everything. Howard said they were too busy that week to have him on (even Robin sounded surprised when he said it). I could not care less about Bubba but at least it would have been a topical conversation. Too busy? I think that was the week the had the whores on to do dumber than a box of rocks ( an identical segment that they had done only a few months before).

YUP, that bullshit took I think 90 minutes with bookended commercials. WRETCHED segment that not a soul asked for on any level. Just soooo dated, so boring, and to blow off the Bubba drama for that is inexcusable.

They couldn't book any A-list talent back when Howard was on K-Rock because of what his show was, and who the A-liters were, but now he's changed. He's got a whole new audience that grew up listening to him that are now A-listers. Things have changed for him and who wants to be on his show, plain and simple. Current A-listers now want to be on his show where A-listers back in the noineties didn't. So it really has nothing to do with Gary, except make his job that much easier.

Publicists contact Gary via fax, email and telephone.
Gary makes a list of possible guests.

During "writing" meeting (often during a break) Howard nixes all the guests that he finds un-intresting.

What a fucking job Gary have. 102 days a year. 5 hours. Does nothing. Luckiest guy in the world that Howard thought he looked like an ape and could take the abuse. No self respect or talent.
