Steve Martin 67 just had a baby with his 41 year old wife

Beth O baby bump coming soon.

Steve Martin’s become a first-time dad at 67, Page Six has exclusively learned. The “It’s Complicated” star and his wife, Anne Stringfield, 41, welcomed a child in December and have been spotted nearby their LA home with the bundle of joy. “They’ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows,” a source said. “Steve’s very private.” The source added, “They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby.” The couple married in 2007 at Martin’s home in a surprise ceremony where guests, includingTom Hanks and Diane Keaton were told it was a party. Martin, meanwhile, has written of his own dad: “My father’s attitude toward my show-business accomplishments was critical. After my first appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ . . . he wrote a bad review of me in the newsletter of the Newport Board of Realtors where he was president.” But Martin wrote in 2008, years after his father died, “In his death, my father . . . did something he could not do in life. He brought our family together.” A rep for Martin declined to comment.

Tony Randall was 70 fucking 7 when he had 2 kids.....never saw them hit 10. He died 9 years ago. The Step-dad will be at HS Graduation.
    ----------------

Tony Randall, the actor most famous for his TV role as fastidious Felix Unger on The Odd Couple, created a stir in 1997 when he announced that his second wife Heather, 25, was expecting a child. Randall was 77 years old at the time. His first marriage of 50 years, ending with his wife Florence's death in 1992, produced no children. Randall's situation was an oddity: U.S. birth statistics indicate that only about one-tenth of one percent of American children are fathered by men over 60 years old, much less someone nearing 80. Randall learned of the stork's impending visit in 1996, while rehearsing for a production of A Christmas Carol in New York City. Randall was giddily anticipating becoming a father despite his advanced age. “What I look forward to,” he said, “is when the kid is 15 and we go out in the yard to play ball. I’ll only be 90.” (Tony's arithmetic was a little bit off the mark.) But Randall never made it to 90. He was 84 when he died in 2004, leaving behind not only a 7-year-old daughter, Julia, but also a 6-year-old son, Jefferson. The mere fact that Randall was becoming a first-time father as a septuagenarian bothered a lot of people. They complained that although Randall was financially well off, he was virtually guaranteeing his children would be fatherless at an early age. Sociologists' opinions varied. Some claimed that lower testosterone in elderly men made them better suited for parenthood because they were more nurturing. Others suggested Randall was being selfish at the expense of his children's well-being. Still others maintained it was only the business of the Randall family. After Randall's death, his widow admitted in an interview with Larry King that she had not adequately prepared her children for the likelihood of their father dying while they were young.

This means that instead of Howard being a 1% he will be a 1/10 of 1%.

I love Steve Martin. He's a funny, silly fellow and a fine and cultured gentleman. Perfect combination/best of both worlds. And I'm surprised because I honestly always thought that Steve Martin was gay and that the women he was with were his beards. Congratulations Pops!

i alwys thought he was gay...he's an art collector and wrote 2 works of fiction where the protagonist was a female (as told from the point of view of a male). he always seemed somewhat ambiguous about his sexuality even though he was linked (beard i thought)to women.
why the hell would he want to be a first time father at 65...IMO, it's insane.

but he's also a renaissance man...maybe he can handle it (his wife reminds me of tina fey). i wonder what her profession was...somehow, i don't think she was a modoe.

He'll make a better father than Howard, because he's a better man. Smarter, deeper, more balanced, infinitely less selfish and more decent.
    Why me, why me?

Sounds like he also had daddy issues and overcame them (unlike the Wig). I'm sure he'll make a great dad To bad he'll be 87 when the kid turns 20.

First time dad at 67, wow. I had my first when I was 36 and I thought I was too old. Steve Martin is a great comedian but over the years, he's proven himself to be a much deeper person than that. Congratulations, Navin P. Johnson!

The kid will end his letters home from summer camp with "PS, is dad still farting?"

For someone who went through fertility issues to have my kids...there is no way Howard is dealing with all that shit it's time consuming, humbling and exhausting. He's too selfish.

But remember, he'd "do anything to keep that woman happy."

    There's a baby a' coming.

I say surrogate like SJP did for her last kid. He won't have to deal with fertility crap and she won't get fat.
