That's fucking funny. Back in the 70's a play back operator quit channel 5 in Boston. His last night he queued up a stag film, turned it on and left the station. The story goes they never received a call about this until after the movie was over but it all sounds like folk lore to me anyways.

In my entire life, I only heard the Emergency Broadcast System used once for real. Even with all the earth quakes I've been through in So.Cal., it was the start of the L.A. riots when I on the freeway in L.A. and they used it on the radio to call in all off duty L.A.P.D., L.A. Sheriffs, and other city cops to report at once.
