I don't think anybody is defending the police for shooting at the newspaper ladies but I think people are happy to hear that they catch/kill a criminal who killed 4 police officers. His manifesto and wrongful firing (if it was wrongful) does not give him license to kill people. Many people have been fired from their jobs for reason that they don't agree with but they do not turn it into killing sprees. He is a murderer and I say let that motherfucker burn.

Actually people aren't all that happy about them catching a cop killer. Before this incident the cops in LA were not well liked. Now after all the mistaken identity shootings have taken place and one of their own is hunting them there is even less respect for the LA PD and that includes the CHP.

Sorry he killed three cops and a girl because she was the daughter of a cop. One of the cops he shot today died.

He gunned down the daughter of a cop and her fiance (who I think was a cop according to USC). How is it heroic to go after peoples family members? How is it heroic to tie innocent people up and take over their cabin for days? Many people have been fired from their jobs for the wrong reason but those people don't go on rampages.

He made it clear that he would not be taken alive. How many more men do you think should have died trying to capture him? Who knows, he may have killed himself before the fire even started.

I got ya, man. And I agree 100%. I hate the fact that there are many cops and quite a few departments that abuse their authority and get away with it on a regular basis. I hate that there are so many cops that blindly defend it. But even if one truly hates cops and thinks that they're all somehow evil, how the fuck can you stand by a guy who chose to murder their and threaten their family members to get back at them?!

I think Dorner has become a symbol to many and little thought has actually gone into the process. Just like Che Guevara became a symbol to those who object to corporatism and exploitation of the poor, the real story is that these symbolic figures were just as evil, corrupt and as authoritarian as the people they combated. Sometimes worse.

If you murder a woman because you have a vendetta stemming from the actions of her father, you're a scumbag and a monster. There is no other way to spin it.

Let's be real here; how was that an attainable option? Tear gas him out? For all we know, he had a mask. Send in a robot? To what, shoot him? Send in a SWAT Team? The guy already killed people. He's armed and declared that he's a dead man walking.

IF (and this is a big if) the police knew that Dorner was in there and had no hostages, I don't seen any other viable options that wouldn't result in police casualties or at least a great risk thereof*.

Holy shit! To prevent Dorner's death from inspiring like-minded anti-cop terrorists, his body has been identified through DNA testing and was flown onto an aircraft carrier where it was berried at sea.

The cops have video, but releasing the video might inspire other wrongfully terminated cops to commit acts of terrorism. So ya'll can't see it.
