Concussion is not the immediate problem...ruling out a bleed in the brain is. When it bleeds, it has no place to drain inside your skull, so the blood pools and presses into the tissue cutting off circulation, causing immediate brain damage and eventually brain death. The symptoms of this include headache, nausea/vomiting, confusion, and slurred speech. Sound familiar?

This is what happened to Natasha Richardson, but she wasn't a minor in the presence of two parents who are supposed to love and protect them. This is unfathomable to me, the sheer disregard of common fucking sense. I have no axe to grind with you, Slippy; I'd be saying this to anyone here. And I dunno if he's had one before, but by about the time he has his second concussion, his hockey career should be over. Data is coming in that even 2-3 concussions, especially in developing brains, can have lifelong repercussions...think scrambled eggs.

If kids quit hockey or football after their 2nd concussion, there would be no NHL or NFL.
