Twitter and Amex to let you pay with a hashtag


Once you tweet that confirmation hashtag, American Express will shoot you a confirmation e-mail and give you 15 minutes to confirm you want the product. Your card will be charged and the goods shipped to your billing address.

Twitter Hacked; Company Says 250K Users May Have Been Affected

As long as you use a bank credit card your purchase is insured. This sounds like it would circumvent that process, so why would anyone do it?

It would still use your amex card. But instead of filling out card number, security code, etc you just have to tweet the hashtag.

I'm already paranoid using my card on the net, this sounds so insecure, you would have to be fucken nuts to try this.
