Also I will say that the awful acts done in Columbine and Sandy Hook were done with the weapons of the parents of these kids. Now how do we ensure that responsible gun owner stay responsible?

Actually that is saying that 65.4 million people may be a little paranoid, or some just needed/wanted a new gun.

Nukes have helped prevent another world war or another dropped nuke. For every drone keeps one of our service men out of harms way.

    Or with a gun.

The most modern firearms of the day were available to the public. Do you remember that the boys in Columbine were also carrying homemade bombs? Why not ban propane tanks? Fertilizer and diesel killed lots of little kids in Oklahoma City.

Because how will barbecue then? Actually I am a charcoal guy, but I will stand strong for all my brothers and sisters who choose propane.

I like the idea of a cop at the every school. At least for the short term anyway.

In my apartment complex once each year I MUST let the fire department into my home to inspect for fire safety. Once each year, my township requires that the Verizon fios/satellite hookups are inspected. Again, for safety.

This doesn't happen in private homes, but I think we could look at something like this. Why not a home inspection of gun safes?

Just throwin' it out there. It's problematic (mainly because it's two or three sentences with plenty of opportunities to shout it down) but I think it's a good place to start.

    What do you think?

Again I ask, what has changed in our society that has produced such violent people, children in particular? I think we need to look very closely at our social engineering which has made it easier for children to become more isolated from 2 parents and their grandparents.

That may be a tough one to pass by, I mean what if they are checking your safe and they see some pot or something? Not what they are there for, but will get you in trouble nonetheless.

And depriving American citizens of their 5th & 14th Amendment rights, guaranteeing due process are violated when we kill American citizens like we did in Yemen. Yes, he was a known affiliate of al-qaeda and yes, he was most certainly a traitor, but the executive branch is able to just execute him, without a trial? And what about the two other people who were at that meeting, one of whom was an anti-al-qaeda imam and the other was a police officer who was traveling with the imam who was nervous about meeting the "terrorists?" Someone made a decision that it was okay to a) deprive an American citizen his due process and b) that it was an acceptable action to kill two innocent people who happened to have the rotten luck of being in the same place as the target.

It's not as simple as you're making it out to be, yo.

We killed the middle class, parents argue over money, lack of money causes stress, kids see this, and they go off the deep end. At least that is what differs from when I was a kid.

Well, in fairness, fertilizer purchases (over a certain amount) have to be reported and taggents (sp?) have been added to them to track back from where they were purchased.
