I don't know but how about the over/under on how many hours Howard will spend the next couple weeks droning on about "tootsie rolls" in his lame pope impression....?
I think his days of prepubescent peepee pulling pedophilia are past him; probably a more apt question would be: "how many pedophiles in sheep's clothing will he be directly and indirectly enabling?"
u know what to do......

"That's me in the corner, that's me in the spotlight losing my religion"
That's actually an old Southern saying, meaning to lose your temper, but I get your point. As a Catholic, I do want to play Devil's Advocate a bit here, though. Just because a pope does something does not mean he speaks for all Catholics. I didn't care for Benedict, I thought he blew it on the molestation issue and never should have been pope in the first place. I'm not wild about JPII either, he gets too much credit for fighting Communism. The bottom line is that the Church has to allow married priests, it's just stupid not to. If you live in an Eastern Rite country (eastern Europe, the Middle East) you can be a married priest. For the first 1000 years of the Church priests could marry, the vow of celibacy was originally only for monks. The idea of celibacy for priests arose over property rights disputes, it's outdated, and I agree that Benedict shares a lot of the blame.
my first memories of catholic church at 6yrs old was, who the fuck are these freaks in robes & funny hats moving real slow & whats with all the gold ornamental bullshit. i always sat there in wonder what kind of a freaky world my mom dragged me to every sunday.
I hate being bipolar, its awesome.

The current pope was a Hitler youth. So this pope has to top that.
I am throw Cardinal Bernie Law's hat into the ring. He led arguably the largest sex crime ring known in the U.S. For decades he would keep transferring pedophile priests from church to church so they could not get caught and have some fresh youngin's to go after. The Church already promoted him after he was caught so he could leave Massachusetts and the United States before anyone had the balls to bring charges against him.
I just want to say, for the record, I don't condone the way any of that was handled and I think the Catholic Church needs to shell out millions of more dollars and see more of these priests brought to justice before it can have moral credibility in the West again. I still tithe to my parish and I hope that some of my money has gone to that, and that more will in the future. Having said that, it also didn't happen everywhere; most countries where priests can marry and have a family (the eastern Rite) didn't have these problems because they could get normal people to become priests. I say make a Romanian the pope, rescind the First Lateran Council, and make Vlad the Impaler the patron saint of handing pedophile priests over to the authorities, personally.
R.E.M. named the song after the saying...
In the song, Michael Stipe sings the lines "That's me in the corner/That's me in the spotlight/Losing my religion". The phrase "losing my religion" is an expression from the southern region of the United States that means losing one's temper or civility, or "being at the end of one's rope." Stipe told The New York Times the song was about romantic expression.[6] He told Q that "Losing My Religion" is about "someone who pines for someone else. It's unrequited love, what have you."[7] Stipe compared the song's theme to "Every Breath You Take" by The Police, saying, "It's just a classic obsession pop song. I've always felt the best kinds of songs are the ones where anybody can listen to it, put themselves in it and say, 'Yeah, that's me.'"[8]

I know very little about the Catholic church but I agree with you on allowing marriage. I was just reading something about Episcopalian priest leaving and becoming priest in the Catholic church because the Epicoplaian church is too liberal . If they are married that is okay.
