What the hell are people so scared of. If you don't want people to see pictures or know your information, don't put it out there. It's a simple choice of using social media or not. There's nothing wrong with either choice. It's crazy that people get so offended over these services "sharing" information.

Raytheon builds tracking software using Facebook


Raytheon, a Massachusetts-based Defense Department contractor, has built citizen tracking software that pulls information from social networks that ostensibly will be used sold to the US government... Using public data from Facebook, Twitter, Gowalla and Foursquare, the software — cleverly called RIOT or Rapid Information Overlay Technology — gathers uploaded information and forms a profile of people’s every move that registered with one of the websites.

As a matter of perspective: had the CIA built Facebook, we’d all be terrified.
