I'm getting 32 down and almost 11 up using the wifi hotspot on my Iphone. It's probably costing me a fortune. I usually get around 30 down and 2 up at home. Cool!
Pro Tip: If you try to set your hot spot up when your Iphone is connected to your wifi, it won't work. You have to shut off the wifi option on your phone and then turn your hotspot off and then back on again.

I haven't used this feature. The Verizon guy said the phone gets hot and it sucks battery. Is this true?

Yes, it is Verizon and it does suck battery bad. I need to measure how much bandwidth I'm using too.
