Back on the river

The ice looks pretty goddamn cool here. It is from the ferrys going back and forth and creating lots of broken chunks.

It's hard to tell with my shitty phone camera, but this is an extremely shallow section of the river (depending on the season/weather of course), There is aboot 1.5' of ice on top of 1.5' of water and then the bottom.

OMFG, I think I'm in wintertime heaven.

Part of the fun is exploring the little offshoots off the river
Some big boils on the corner of the oxbow, but they are just as thick as the rest of the river

it still scares me, even if you need it.
Cool though.

I got married at that church in the background 18 years ago...my parents were married there as well.
The whole afternoon was really awesome, but I had a tremendous amount of fun on this figure 8. Hard to beat these. They are good for practice and it is fun to see how far you can push the traction of the studded tires. They offer just as much traction as riding on pavement does. It is hard to wrap your head around while doing it, but it is amazing.
