He's also rarely funny on TV. He has a powerful personality that can make for a compelling interview, but I don't usually find those appearances funny. And I assume that's more of the real Howard, with limited access to other people's jokes.

I was just watching "The Burn" with Jeff Ross and Adam Carolla was one of the 3 comedians on the panel. I didn't think Carolla would do very well because he's more of an improv comedian and those types of comics don't do well in a Roast situation. But Carolla was on fire and was the funniest of the 3 - I even think he out punched Jeff Ross. But I was thinking during the show: imagine if Howard was on the panel and he had no writers or just Benjy and Shuli. He would suck.

Howard was funny back in the day (I don't know how the old appearances aged) because he was insightful and brutally honest and he could be so in the context of any conversation and it was refreshing. Now that his PC Libtard-ness has killed his insight and honesty he's just an old man complaining about the weather and kids on his lawn. The man threw it all away.

You're right, in the past it only happened once in a while and it was obviously Benjy because the joke was about something they had just finished discussing. Lately though it happens several times per show and the subject is completely irrelevant to what they talking about. For example, I just heard one on the replay. Robin did a story about Ed Koch's funeral and she and Howard were discussing it when suddenly Howard blurted out "Hey, did you hear that Octomom misplaced one of her kids?", followed by several cringe-worthy one-liners. It really stood out because no one had mentioned Octomom before that. To me, they sound like something Shuli would write because they're overly wordy and not the least bit funny.

Hearing Artie on Howard 101 for this date in Howard history is the last thing I laughed at because at least when Artie was there they would try to make each other laugh

Heard another example of the ghost-written jokes Howard clumsily tries to pretend are his own spontaneous thoughts. Often they'll be discussing a serious topic and he'll start babbling about something totally ridiculous and unrelated. This time Robin was doing a news story about the sniper who was murdered and Wiggy interrupted her with a lame joke about Justin Bieber. He's so delusional he doesn't even realize how silly he sounds.
