Isn't the jury still out on the subtitle?

I guess "How real food may have extended my worthless existence by a few months" doesn't have the same ring to it.

And who believes she's eating "real" food anyway?!? Nobody. If she's able to eat solid foods, it's solid garbage.

If she even makes it to her appearances, do you think she'll already be seated to hide the tubes and wires and shit, or will she just be wheeled out by the host or a carer or a segment producer?

And what about the random blips and bleeps from the various computers that are keeping her alive? Will Shaffer cover for her and say that was him accidentally hitting a key on one of his synths?

This is going to be fantastically awful.

    Strike that; reverse it!

That's the pervasive mentality and while I understand it, it makes me sad. It's killing the book industry and all of the romance and sentimentality that goes with it. I don't need to carry 25 books with me. I'll take whatever book I'm currently reading if I know I'll have some time to kill somewhere. And nothing smells quite like a new book when you crack it open, or an old, dusty one at a second-hand store. You smell mold and mildew; I smell history and magic. God forbid the planet ever loses power - there's going to be an entire generation sitting around crying with their thumbs up their butts and no idea of how to entertain or educate themselves.

Amazon's great and you can find titles that the bookstore might not carry. I do use it a lot. When I was at the bookstore last week, I saw a book that I currently have in my "cart" on Amazon for an upcoming birthday gift. I could've bought it at the store for $18, but it's $9 at Amazon, so I left it. I still managed to spend $200 on other books and a lot of gift items that are unique. They're expanding that section of the store to keep it alive.

Robin already admitted to eating french fries and bagels when she was supposedly on the "real food" diet and no one gets that fat without eating a lot of other junk food too. Everyone knows whatever she says in her book or on the tour will be total bullshit, she has ZERO credibility.

A small bookstore has higher overhead than Amazon. Amazon's convenience and reach also gives them access to hundreds of millions of potential customers.

It's a real surprise that a Howard forum is not familiar with book seller tactics.

Surprisingly its the opposite. Books in digital form are astronomically cheaper to produce so there is more opportunities for writers to get published since it costs less to publish a book. Digital books don't harm the environment, you don't have to cut down trees and use toxic inks to make them.. or have landfills full of old useless books. And digital books are easier to distribute worldwide and therefore more people can get access to them. And finally digital books are less expensive to buy because they cost less to produce.

And I like having an entire library on my tablet so I can read anything anywhere and don't have to take a library of books with me..

I can't argue any of it. I just love books. When we're out of electricity, don't come crying to me to borrow any.

If I had a vegetable garden, I'd bury a few hundred of those books there. Probably makes great fertilizer

Oh, I know, I just wish it didn't have to be that way. There's no ambience on Amazon.com.

I love books too.. That's why I love being able to take an entire library with me anywhere on my 12oz Nexus 7!

And the power thingy is moot. Cuz the power is on 99% of the time where I live.. and if it is not I have a cheap Black & Decker CP120B 20-Watt Power Backup Battery Pack and a PowerFilm USB/AA Solar Charger just in case of power failures.. both are ready at all times. I like the Solar charger alot cuz it rolls up like a scroll and so I take it camping. It works fucking great to charge iPods, phones, rechargeable batteries... and tablets.

I'd say you love reading which is great, but you (and everyone else these days) remove the character and poetry and soul of an actual book from the equation. It's a tactile thing to me. Books are irreplaceable.

Of course not, but there's also a good chance that anything published solely electronically will disappear at some point and there will be no evidence that it ever existed.

I'm glad she mentioned she's the award-winning host of the smash hit The Chatter instead of that tiny little Howard Stern Show she's on.
