I write to get them past the HR dept. Those guys see hundreds of resumes for each job. If i can help them weed through them, then my candidate gets to the short list that is actually presented to the hiring manager. Most of my peers don't want to see 30 resumes from a recruiter; they want to see 3-5 resumes. They want the headhunter to filter out the best of the bunch, and they want substantial reasons for moving someone into the pile of 5 resumes.
