Have to say that the blowing off of Gary's father's wake was a key moment in my turnaround on Howie. True douchebag move, and his refusal to see what he did wrong just pissed me off. Add to that that the show was quickly going into the toilet at this point, and I was halfway out the door.

Thanks, ARM, for the reminders of how the true persona of Howard reaches the surface. Those are only three of the many incidents of Stern's inability to see beyond himself and what he wants. I can't help but think of behind the scenes Howard. How much shit would Gary have to take if he spoke up, say, after the dinner incident. I found Howchie's behavior to be shocking, after all the Dell'Abate family went through to make things nice. They should have used the dinner they won at the auction on someone who would have appreciated it. Howard would have been yelling at him off the air till he lost his mind. How he is on the air sounds pretty much like who I imagine him to be off the air. Gary is stuck with a miserable, selfish, boorish boss that all the marboes in the world can't fix. While I am not nuts about Gary's endless sticking up for inappropriate behavior, I think he opts for the way he can end the brutality of hearing Howard go on and on about everything.
