Sadly, I highly doubt that. Cops in Cleveland recently shot two unarmed people in a car 137 times after a short high speed chase. When the car was stopped, officers opened fire killing the unarmed driver and the unarmed hooker he picked up. There were no weapons found in the car. One officer fired 51 times which required 3-4 magazines.

No charges were filed. Charges are rarely filed. A cop punching a cocky young asshole in the face won't be charged. The worst he'll get is a paid suspension while the department "investigates."

About a year ago where I live there were 3-4 cops on scene trying to deal with a guy who was off his meds and banging on street signs and making a general ruckus. While cuffed the guy headbutts cop or something, I forget. Long story short, 3-4 cops can't handle an unarmed handcuffed kid so they shoot him dead. Not charged, not fired, not even suspended without pay. After two inquiries these fine officers are still 'protecting' and 'serving' our community. Yay.

I definitely support the police and the tough job they do, but I do have a problem when they step way out of line and force departments, counties, or cities to pay off for their bad decisions and actions. Anyone know the back story to this? If the dog was violent or rabid or had injured people seriously, Officers are allowed by AG & County Prosecutor guidelines to destroy animals if they deem necessary.

If that wasn't the case, and they destroyed it for no reason (which I doubt) then they should be terminated. Terrible safety tactics used here, the one officer was pointing his weapon at the other officer at one point.
