But no criminal charges will be filed.
But no criminal charges will be filed.
Do the police owe a duty to protect you from criminal attack? In most of the United States, the answer is "no." In fact, in most cases the police do not even have to respond to your emergency 911 call.
Don't believe it? Read the true stories from all across America about citizens who depended solely upon their telephone and police response for emergency help against a violent criminal. Not only did those crime victims not get help, the local government and police escaped legal responsibility for failing to help those victims.
This compact paperback reviews the law in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the District of Columbia and Canada, showing how statutes and court decisions consistently hold that the police generally have "no duty" to protect individual citizens. When it comes to personal self-defense, citizens are on their own.

He could be disciplined for doing non work stuff on work time...(much like me being on Dawgsaloon during work hours) but not reprimanded for not responding to a call.
I was actually shocked when I read that police don't HAVE to respond to a 911 call....in most states, they are only technically required to follow up on a crime....not actually intervene...never knew that...was appalled.

Maybe...maybe not...I got a ticket b/c my insurance card address didn't match my driver's license address...wow, what a hero that cop was..
and I wasn't belligerent...in fact I was in near tears b/c I was trying to find this vet to get special dog food for my sick dog and made a U turn in a parking lot..that is why I was pulled over...

You get a couple ok ones...a cop took me to a rest stop to call for help when my car broke down on the turnpike, nice guy....but then another asshole rang by doorbell at 11pm at night and demanded I move my truck from the street when we had a snow storm...the truck was covered in snow from the snow plows from earlier..I was out there with a shovel at 11pm at night, trying to shovel it out...

I hope that was sarcasm.
I'll be the first to admit, we NEED cops. You're being paid to be on the job answering whatever call comes to YOUR car radio.
If someone is killed due to your apathy? How is that not at least reckless endangerment?
The DA's office said they'd let it be handled within the department. It's not who you know, it's who you blow.

Everyone always says that you don't need guns in modern America where the police can protect you. Good thing for the Korean immigrants not falling for that shit in 1992 when they had NO ONE to protect them against a million blacks that vowed to kill them and burn their businesses to the ground. When the LAPD ran for cover, the Koreans armed themselves and stood their ground in a last stand reminiscent of the old west!
Already have a sign for any looters..."have dogs and guns...move on..."
