It was always illegal to wear the flag when I was growing up in the 60's/70's. I'm not sure if patches were even legal

In October of 2001, the school I was attending issued American flag bumper stickers...with the school's logo on the flag.

I told the school's administrators how disrespectful and self-serving it was for them to seek profit both on the flag and the deaths of the nearly 3,000 people who died.

They didn't even bat an eye and looked at me like there was something wrong with me. They couldn't understand what the problem was.

It's still protected free speech, in fact, even when (actually, especially when) it's offensive to others. But schools have their own version of free expression; meaning, it's not free.

The interesting thing is that the same thing is happening in all other "western" democracies. This is not just a USA trend, but all "good" countries in the world.

Leftys don't understand that there is 210 countries and territories in the world. Of 210 countries, maybe 20 are "normal". The rest are different kind of dictatorship. But the leftys want the "normal" countries to be like the crazy countries.

Look at history. Why is it the same ethnicity that have managed to create working society? The school probably has a policy against wearing any type of clothing that could be considered gang related. Doesn't matter if it is a headband with stars and stripes or a headhand with some other symbolic meaning. Since when is following the dress code considered unpatriotic?
