It is starting to seem that the show/Artie is laughing more at Mike B. than with him.

Also, it seems people like Soul Joel (whoever that cretin is) and Dan Falto (Mister Roboto) are treating Mike B. like a "slow adult".

Stop the Mike B. drops too (he is there damn it) and let Mike be Mike.

    I like "raw" Mike.

I'd love to be able to suggest bits for them; but the reality is someone on the show needs to be researching interesting sports/entertainment news for Artie to riff on, that's it. You wouldn't need a single guest or band to fill up any time. The callers could mix it up easily.

I think Brock is a directv employee that mgmt. Forced on N&A for airtime. Then they were presently suprised that he wasnt as lame as they thought he would be. I think hes ok and other than the 12 days bit, hasnt been overused. JMO though.

The 1st week he was in studio was a good wk I thought.

Brock was just a regular caller. He'd call in from LA with some witty observations, which were clearly written material. But he also showed that he could ad-lib a little. He said something about doing or hosting some little open mic thing or some little bar band night in LA on the west side. At the time all the calls were going through the LA studio, so he hooked up with the people in LA before ever going to New York. I remember there was one night somebody (I think Artie) didn't make it in, so they had Brock in the LA studio as a co/back-up host. As I understand they wanted to hire Brock as a regular part of the show, but he didn't want to move to New York. So later on, Bochetti got hired, part-time, and then full-time.

Brock and Bochetti are both funny....the thing is, if you think they should be hiring someone funnier, or more talented....it's hard to get somebody who's more than just a borderline comedian for this show. I don't think the job pays that great. It definitely says something that Brock turned down the job. Obviously, if they had really made it worthwhile for him, he would have taken it.

From what I remember I thought he worked in the studio in LA... Artie was in LA shooting something, and he met him while doing the show from there. He thought his impressions were funny and put him on the air... and then it just took off from there

So wait, Brock had a job in show business being on the Nick and Artie Show offered to him in and didn't take it to stay in LA? What else is he doing in LA? I've never seen him anywhere else but on this show. Ever. I remember him saying his family is in the mid-west so it's not like he stayed there for his family. That seems a little foolish on his part to me. To turn down a paying job that could lead to other things to stay in LA? Like I said- for what? Who's banging down his door to offer him any acting work etc?

As far as Brock goes and if he's funny-with that I am on the fence. The bits he does (solo-not the ones with Bochetti) are just dreadful to watch most of the time. But when he's been in the studio, he has been funny. So I don't know. I will say I am glad that it's Mike that got the job in studio and Brock turned it down.

He was a caller first. This was at the very beginning of the show. Within the first month or two. (I've been listening since the first show, actually since the test show). Nick and Artie liked his calls, he helped fill airtime.

Yeah, that's when Artie met him. Artie was in LA, and had Brock come in to the studio.

I wonder what he does for a living. Does he work in show biz in LA somehow ? Who knows, maybe he's got inheritance and doesn't have to work. There are a lot of people like that in LA.

the first call, from Brock to the N&A show was 04-02-12.

I thought it was much earlier too (more like late fall 2011).

I remember the show you are talking about also.

Anyone know the date of the show ksmann1 is talking about?

I wonder what the actual Brock timeline actually was?

This is something Will would know.

    Will?

"The maid thought it was a mud bath." Artie and Spike's reaction on DirecTV was funny. Pure disgust.

Brock is a friend with some of the DirecTV brass. He was planted as a caller initially and tried to come up with recurring bits. When the guys come to Los Angeles, he appeared with them in studio (since he is from Los Angeles as well). During this time, Artie fed him lines and bits which would help make him more dynamic. And that is where Andre The Giant was born.

I like Brock. He's talented, smart and funny - but it depends what they're getting him to do. There's not much point repeating the same stuff over and over.

Even if he can't comment on Nick, it would be cool to have Will here just to shoot the shit, he was a good poster. When he first showed up here I called the show to ask if it was really him, he kindly put up with my drunken comments.

Joe Derosa said that he has no idea what the hell is going on. He said Nick is not telling anyone anything.

It has been well established that Nick was fired for being Gay and Faggot, and because OSHA was concerned with the amount of sand in his vagina being a health hazard. Also, he probably took the money to shut his mouth, which happens in radio all the time. I mentioned this earlier, but an afternoon drive host at the ESPN station I listen to sometimes was fired for insulting Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit. Instead of taking the pay out money he declined and spoke out about his firing, got a job on their rival Fox Sports station, and badmouths ESPN day and night. Now, I don't know what kind of money this guy was making, but if a local DJ has the stones to do it I don't see why Nick wouldn't turn down the money unless he feared he couldn't get another gig (which he probably does).
