lol you do realize that southamerican teams have a ton of players playing in europe. Just because you see a player playing in a foreign team does not necessarily mean he is on the A team

I recognize 3 players from Brazil's A team. Julio Cesar, Robinho and Lucio. Maybe Kaka but he is on the downhill so it wouldnt surprise me he gets bumped

The US is a mediocre team at best.

To answer your question...they WILL classify to the world cup. Mainly because they have an easy qualifying preliminary, mexico is the only respectable team; and concacaf gets 3 spots.

I would never argue that the US team is mediocre..that is fact. Doesn't mean I'm going to root for Spain, Italy, Brazil so i can follow a team that has a good chance of winning the World Cup. As a fan of the US I root for them to do well and get better which they have done in the past 20 years.

If Jurgen Klinssman is the coach and your observations are correct; he is playing the right way. The US is superior to any central american team, except Mexico. The fact they lost simply shows a mediocre team struggling to beat underpowered opponents.

I live in Canada for the last 16 years. Im originally from south america with a german background

Years ago, at the gym, there was some dude, walking around with a Brazilian soccer jersey on. When I saw the name "KaKa" on the back, I just started cracking up. I was like "the dude is wearing the word kaka on his back."

soccers just one of those sports where the talent doesnt always shine thro for a victory alot of the time. you can be the aggressor holding possesion all match but cant find the net on many more shots on goal & the weaker opponent gets lucky on one quick counterattack. its frustrating to watch those matches & i've been on both sides coaching yth soccer.

Some teams are set-up to play counterattacking football, though, Stripes. They will allow the other team to have more possession in their half with the thinking that they can catch them on the break after taking possession. It would appear that they are "weaker" (if you gauge it on possession statistics), but it's a conscious decision made before the game by a lot of teams with pacy wingers and strikers.

And it's never worked for the U.S. in the Olympics, especially the last one [for which they qualified] (the men's team, that is).

i played that stragedy many times & its usually a good thing to do when you're playing a better skilled team if like you said you got a few speedsters that can take advantage of the quick box to box longball. sometimes its all you can do when you are outclassed & cant possess the ball.

Olympics? Who gives a shit about Olympic soccer. Three professionals and the rest amateurs, originally. Theyve modified it since but, still, they don't come close to being able to compete with the World Cup squad. Dont think Ive ever sat down to analyze their tactics, either, as the squad is constantly changing.

Or did you mean the National Team that qualified for the last WC?

Yes the olympics is an under 23 tournament..kinda pointless and they do that on purpose so it doesn't take away from the World Cup.
