Felt great, no kidding at 2.5 miles I found myself in a trance...awesome...like the ground was passing by under me and I was effortlessly just floating...I've only felt that a few times, but it is incredible...There's something about running off pavement that helps you get there...I know that

Adrenaline is without a doubt the best drug
George I saw the Minimus on sale so what's your latest field report on them? I have flat feet so I'm a bit hesitant.
Sounds like you had a runners high

I actually got a bit of a runner's high today. The only redeeming feature of today's run.

It's more a sense of calmness than really a high. You just feel better mostly. Now and then I feel buzzed.

    Yup....that's it

The minimus are good at protecting your feet from cuts and such...but if you're on hard ground or sharp rocks, you'll feel it...which is what I want...It's a choice...it forces you to run in a way that uses the perfect shock absorber(your foot) to it's maximum potential....I alternate from those to a cross training shoe, because you use all calf when you use them...It takes a while to build up the calf muscle when you first start using them. They are about 9 months old and only have enough wear to show what parts of my foot are doing the work....I'm sure if I used them on pavement they'd wear out faster though

2-3-2013. A Goatcabin. Not a stellar run (it had it's moments) but far better than yesterday's athletic abortion.

So who here will be kind enough to help a beginner get started?

I figure if I get up at 5, I should have enough time to get some running in.

It's .6 miles around my block.

There's tons of questions. I could Google it all but it seems there are experts right here.

    Stretching? What kind?

Is it ok to run on an empty stomach? SHould I eat/drink something first?

What kind of clothes do you people wear for running in winter? It's cold out!!

Hermmmm.... There's more but I'm at work.

    Thanks
