I did 2 miles tonight, no times but probably around 9:30-10

I'll run with new partner tomorrow and she's around 8:30

Low/Doc Sublux how do I pick up my pace? sprints? 1/2 fast 1/2 slow?

    My suggestion for improving pace:

    1. Do one interval session a week close to threshold pace (as fast as you can run) 6 x 800 yards with a couple minutes rest between each 800 yard leg.

2 Do one Fartlek session a week (switching up pace between normal, fast and slow.

    3. If you can fit it in, do one long run (maybe a few miles more than your regular distance)

I lost a lost of cv fitness when I was out with my injured leg, so this is what I'm doing right now to get back up to speed.

    I'm on it

Based on your experience, how long will it take you to get your pace back up?
I may join a running club so not sure what pace group to be a part of

Well, when I was just getting back into running a couple of years ago, I couldn't crack 10K in under an hour. It took about three months to get my 10K time down to 48 minutes. My 5K personal best also went from just under 29 minutes to about 22:30.

I put a lot of it down to regular weekly interval training. It's not enjoyable while you're doing it, but it's effective.

I also lost a ton of weight at the time, though, through switching to low-carb, and that certainly had some impact on my quicker times too.

Of course, George my tell you to run easy, then run light, and then speed will take care of itself.

1-26-2012. A Goatcabin. 1 1/2 minute negative split. Ran out 18 minutes, came back in about 16 and a half minutes. Ran the full 36 minutes to be on the safe side. I I now feel like a 1 7/8ths scale model of Kevin James instead of the full monstrosity.
