my personal opposition to any use of drugs aside, i don't think that the role of a government is to govern on moral issues. not in full, anyways. so, one's personal decision is essential for self responsibility. in the end, we are only responsible for ourselves and the decisions we've made. the government isn't a parental figure. so, i say - legalise pot and prostitution. but this shouldn't extend to harder drugs, of course.

politicians are enslaving us with their 10s of thousands of statutes, rules and regs.

    it's for our protection.

Exactly..and this friend of a friend of a friend lives in his mother's basement, doing 40 pills per day...no job...and his mother says.."well, he has a prescription..." she is in denial...oh and by the way, this dude is getting disability for "back trouble"..yeah right.
and the other friend..had no formal education..built up a successful trucking company, at one point drove a $70K BMW, and has pissed it all away. Is living with his mother, lost his company, his house..and his only desire is where his next oxy is coming from...makes me so sad.

perhaps, as well, nearly impossible to control because of the government level influence of pharma manufacturers

if the government cannot keep drugs away from inmates on death row, who are we kidding, exactly, that they can keep drugs off the streets?

Elvis swore he was not a drug addict; dude got like 40 shots per day, for everything; wake up, go to sleep, energy, chill out, everything.

swore to his dying day he was not a drug addict. 'cause doctors were involved.

If you smoke pot or drink, the medical/pharmaceutical industry will be happy to put you on 15 different pills (some with heinous side effects that require MORE pills to counteract) to save you from these thousands of years old "vices".....

Hmmm. I believe this is true. This must be why it's so hard for me to give up liquor, even for a little while ....

I agree but the only case that I say NO is when doctors prescribe oxy or such shit to unsuspecting people..we think if our "doctor" prescribes it, it must be ok...but it is not..
