So when the bottom hung back down after he climbed into the escape hole, he blew a fart in the opposite direction to create a vacuum/suction...This maneuver pulled on the backside of the poster & thus, re-seated the double sided tape against the wall .... In the scene where the guys are drinking beer on the roof, the bottles have "ribbed" tops. Beer bottles did not have twist-off's in the late 40's.

The whole movie premise was a fantasy .... Blacks & whites were self segregated in those days (as they are today) ... Ain't no Boon & Honky gonna become good buddies in prison

This one really annoys me, because it serves zero purpose in the plot and should have been edited differently: The movie Tombstone is a lot more historically accurate than you might think, even down to a lot of the dialog. What pisses me off is at the OK Corral gunfight, Doc shoots a double barrel shotgun 3 times, and I think he fires his 2 pistols more than 12 times if I remember right. I thought that shit only happened in really old cowboy movies

When the warden is given a bribe by his contractor/buddy, it comes in a box containing a pie and the pie is in a disposable corrugated aluminium pie tin. The warden gives the pie to Andy in a later scene and when Andy and Red eat it, it is in a metal pie pan... the non-disposable kind.

When the warden shoots himself, he places the gun on the middle of his neck but when we see him lying there the bullet hole is now on the left side. (This is corrected on the tenth anniversary edition. The director also confirms this change on the DVD commentary.)
