I admire this guy too but I think it might be pointless and he'll get himself killed. Probably not on the job but on his way to or from. Whoever takes the guy down will probably have some sort of street cred. Also even if he does temp get rid of the dealers, they move like a block or two away, then they come back again anyway. Awesome stuff to watch tho...they really should make a tv show or dateline special out of this guys life.

I have a feeling there is probably some government aid program for minority business startups that they have figured out (like all other government welfare) to exploit. Maybe they open a shitty "mall" and constantly rotate opening and shutting down a dozen store fronts with the government backed loans under different family members names while pocketing the lion share of it.

I used to live in downtown Atlanta back in the late 80s. I had two guns pulled on me during the 2 years I lived there--one at the door of my own apartment. I saw a guy get murdered in the empty lot next to my buddies house. That city was infested with poor, uneducated, violent black people back then, and it looks like it still is.

I remember going down to the Martin Luther King Memorial and noting that the neighborhood it was in was a complete ghetto. It made me kind of upset that (at that time) 20 years after MLK things were still so bad. It kind of shocked me at the level of poverty that existed in a city also known for the wealth concentrated in Buckhead and as Coca Cola's world HQ. None of this excuses the behavior of the thugs in the video, but that's what society gets when it fails to provide a good education and real opportunities to people. They become ignorant, dangerous savages. I saw the same thing in Afghanistan.

Yeah, it sucked when I lived there. I was poor at the time (right out of college). Atlanta was a great party city if you could afford the cover charge. I lived in Virginia Highlands for awhile, but moved right downtown off Peachtree Street. The crime was out of control. There was literally a whorehouse across the street from me. A big cocaine dealer lived in my building and I saw his girlfriend try to run him down in the street. I came home one day to find a pool of blood all over my stairs. The last straws were when my car window was smashed in one week (they stole some shit) and the next week somebody hit my car and literally drug it up the street about 50 feet. I bailed at that point.

My point about education is that (in the South especially) there is a long history of denying quality education to blaeks. When I was in college I used to tutor in a county school where they had actually shut down the entire public school system FOR YEARS instead of integrating...they opened an all-white private school instead. Things aren't as overt today, but even a few years ago when I lived in a state capital in the South, it was shocking how low the property taxes were in the wealthy neighborhood where I lived...but they didn't fund the public schools at all. The whites still sent their kids to private schools and the blaeks were consigned to shitty schools that had nearly no funding. It's tough to break the cycle of poverty when governments do shit like that.
