    Why do we have to buy all new hardware with these new releases? We've been upgrading our operating systems for how many years now?

    I'll assume that Microsoft is going to do the same thing with X-Box, right?

    Yup. They are due for a new console. I would bet Sony is going to give up Christmas and try to beat Xbox to the stores, instead of going toe to toe with them during the shopping season.

    But why the new console? Why can't they allow you to DOWNLOAD the upgrade? Sure, charge $200 or $300 for it, but why the whole new console?

    It's this sort of old-school thinking that just confounds me.
