At this point, all we are seeing are simple trinkets being made, and some lunatics that are trying, and succeeding, building operational firearms.
I can easily see a day in the short future where companies can provide you the electronic files to repair the appliances in your own home, making that process much easier. But today I read a really interesting article about 2 guys who made a prosthetic hand for a child, that they have made available as open source software.
