Yes. Many years ago, I thought up air dryer hoses for DIY car washes, but I was too lazy to do anything about it. Then they started showing up at car washes a couple of years ago.

I had an idea when I was a kid. My mom worked for Panasonic, mentioned it to the engineers during lunch and they used it. Never saw a penny. I learned to keep my mouth shut.

yes. I was 15. I told my dad I had an idea for making car exhaust not stink so bad. i had been reading about heavy metal substrates in popular mechanics and i wanted to attach a soup can filled with platinum / palladium wire mesh to the tailpipe so the mesh would act as a catalyst once it got hot and the unburned fuel compounds would finish burning into co2 and water. he told me "schmuck. go play outside". about a year later GM announces a catalytic converter using ceramic pellets coated in a platinum / palladium alloy. I think that was when i decided my dad was an asshole.

yes, in college. We were up late studying, and looking for coins for the soda machine, and I we had to go to the laundry room on the other side of campus to make change for our bills. I said "why the fuck can't they put a change machine on the soda machine?"
