Full, Unedited Vid of Great White/Rhode Isld "Station" Nightclub Fire: Shits Intense

Sadly, watching this doesn't do much to restore my faith in mans ability to not be stupid:

    * Arena style pyrotechnics in a 300-person maximum occupancy nightclub (brilliant !!!!)
    * Experiencing a literal body-blockade of people at the main entrance, making it so no one can get out (how the fuck does that happen???)
    * Of the people that do squeeze out the front entrance, most walk away twiddling their thumbs as if there weren't another 200 people that still needed assistance getting the fuck out.

Watching this gave me a full on flash back to the 1986 Run-DMC concert I was working at, and the helpless feeling I recall having that there was no way to get out of an arena full of 18,000 fighting Boons & Beans.

I went to those types of live-music clubs regularly back in my 20's... They were always packed in like sardines, and everyone there was "lit" like a candle ..But even then, I remember being mindful of where the different exits were, just in case

But did they have crazy pyrotechnics like this? That was idiotic and the everyone involved with the band, including management, and the owners of the club should all be in prison for a very long time.

From the time the fire alarm went off, it seemed like quite awhile before you heard the first sirens ... I'm not real familiar with the layout in that part of the country. But, here in Cali, you're never more than 3-4 minutes from any fire station

Around here, most small towns like that one are volunteer, so by the time the calls come in, dispatched, and then they get to the firehouse to get the trucks, it could be what seems like forever.

I saw that when I was visiting family in Pittsburgh. There was a car fire, I was near the firehouse, somebody set the alarm off at the firehouse. The alarm was going off forever. I finally asked somebody why the fireman had not left the firehouse. They said the alarm going off was to alert the volunteers in the area to get to the firehouse so they could go out and fight the fire. Takes forever yeah

Seriously though. There's a fire station every fucking 5 miles? Hell, I've been stuck on Vermont for 10 minutes and only went 2 or three blocks.

Maybe in your neck of the woods...Not in the county I live in

"The Department services an area of 24 square miles (62 km²) from eight stations. The typical response time for OFD is 3–5 minutes with an average of 4:37"

You still don't realize that your statement was asinine.

This is why you're statement was asinine. By your own admission LAFD isn't 3-4 minutes not to mention the rest of Cali and neither is your beloved OCFD. I also said I was just curious if you knew their schedule. That's my own curiosity. I believe it used to be 1 week on 1 week off when my roommate was in the academy. I have 3 friends here that are firefighters and they work 2 days every 6 days.

When I refer to "Cali ", I'm obviously indicating the area in which I live...I don't have a beat on the entire 163,000 square miles of the state... Nor do I have the departmental policies of every fire agency in my area memorized ...One would think that bit of information would be a given, but (apparently) this went over your head....
I read the newspaper daily & watch 1-2 hours of news per day. (On top of what I hear on the radio to & from work)...I'm well up to date on the fiscal goings-on of the bureaucracies in my topographic vicinity, and am also good friends with 3 different Fire-Fighters ....I don't pull statements such as these out of my ass & then present the turds as fact. Your reality is clearly different than mine.... I'll stand by my statements (as always). ...God bless
