Honestly its not a big deal. I remember when they banned the consumption of horsemeat in America around 2007 it wasnt even a media story because no one cared. All the horses put down since then are illegal to eat even though many people could have used the meat. People don't raise horses for human consumption, its too expensive an enterprise since horses are more expensive than cattle and are less easily sold as meat since horse meat isnt hugely popular.
You're always going to have a supply of old working or pet horses. Horsemeat was profitable prior to 2007 because rather than calling your vet to put the horse down & render for $250, you could sell the animal instead. With the horse slaughterhouses closed in the US and high feed prices, you see them trucked to Mexico for slaughter under terrible conditions. I work out in the country and see a lot of horse neglect and "Horse Rescue" is a dream and will never solve the issue.
Bring back the slaughterhouses IMO

Now rather than exporting horsemeat to Europe, horses are abandoned or starve to death due to high feed prices or are bought at local auctions for $100 and trucked to Mexico for slaughter.
Over here in central Europe, horse is as common place as any other meat. It's in almost every restaurant, and in the meat section of all the supermarkets. It's packaged and hanging right next to the beef, chicken, veal, and pork. Funny thing, for years it was always tagged from the U.S., now it's just tagged from other countries. Another American industry lost to other countries over emotion.
i could stomach your incessant 'jew-hating' if you at least came across as a well-read anti-semite. but i see no strasser, rosenberg, chamberlain or even hitler in any of your constant rants. you seem to have the intellect of a common cossack and quite frankly it tires me.
I havent had a burger king burger in years. Always gave me indigestion. Even though this is about the UK, chances are, its probably happening worldwide. Guess there's a reason why those burgers are so cheap.
I still cant over the pink slime stuff they spoke of about a year ago. I will never eat another burger at McDs or Burger King. I normally dont eat burgers fast food, but if I had to, Five Guys is good. Checkers is pretty good too.
