John "The Terminator" Malone need to terminate a few individuals at H100/101...

They should dump Howard and Robin, give Gary the show, hire BenBas as his sidekick and call it "The Booey and BenBas Show".

Sirius 2006-now is what happens when Howard does anything but be the talent. He has no managerial skills whatsoever and did nothing but collude with Mel to bilk a billon bucks from Sirius.

Malone is an executive... He'll make this shit work.
The above is strictly my humble opinion.

Nothing new. This type of change comes with any big company when they get a new leader.
No one should feel safe and no one should be surprised.
They need to put their big boy/girl pants on and ride it out.

Maybe Malone is actually going to hire radio talent for his radio company.
No more skateboarders and actors and shit.
    Which would leave Bubba out

I would actually listen to that at least one time.

Jay Thomas has said several times lately about his contract requiring him to have witty banter with callers or something to that effect. I got the impression that something had been said to him.

The above is strictly my exaulted opinion. Allegedly.
All material is used without the expressed written consent of Major League Baseball.

Malone should sit down with Howard (with listening stats in hand) and ask Howard how he justifies his salary.

I think h101 will become comedy central.

oh, the phony outrage that would follow.

    I'm America's Judge!

I'm the King of All Media!

    I'm HOWARD FUCKING STERN!

I just don't see it happening.

I kind of see it that way. If this contract is anything like the last contract, Sirius is obligated to fund the channelss at the agreed upon rate for the length of the contract. What can Malone do besides charging 112 Productions for all those anonymous plugs and AGT advertisements?

I think Howard might be using this Malone turmoil as a blind to streamline the budget of his own show outright to maximize his marbles. He gets to fire people, scare the rest of them enough to pick up the slack and blame it all on Misters Malone and Meyers.

Not true. KC was a segment producer, Benjy was a segment producer, Stuttering John was a segment producer, and a few other people I can't remember the names of.

if anything, i think Sirius will take away their excessive office space, then THAT will lead to personnel cutbacks. Which, in the end, means a shitty product for us, as usual, and more marbles for Wiggy.

    Wiggy wins. Wiggy always wins.
During the first contract Sirius paid Howard's production company who in turn paid the rest of Howard Stern's staff. It was one of the little things that was not really known or brought out when people would say that Howard was making $100 million a year or whatever it was during the 1st contract. His production company was being paid that amount and from that, Howard, his staff and I am sure a bunch of programming and other related expenses had to be paid. Howard was not making $100 million a year during the first contract and that has to be a fact because the rest of the staff had to be paid from that money plus all programming costs for the two channels, which is why it is real clear he never had any real programming content on either channel other than his own show.

Relative to his 2nd and current contract with Sirius, I specifically remember the day that Howard said he had re-signed, he then went on to say that Robin, Fred, Gary etc were going to have to work out their own deals with Sirius. The Howard Stern Show in total during the 2nd contract was brought in by Sirius for much less than the 1st contract, you better believe that! Howard can say all he wants that he did not take a pay cut and then justify it by saying his pay per hour is the same, the fact is he is doing less hours which means by fact, he had to take a payroll cut versus the 1st contract, but the rest of the staff surely took a pay cut as well. I hope my opinion makes sense.

"If" indeed there is a 3 year contract with 2 year option... This WILL get very interesting. SOONER rather than later.

Here is an interesting blurb from the NYPost:

Not included on the list, as far as TV celebs: “America’s Got Talent” judge Howard Stern — who, in 2010, was licensed to carry a firearm in New York City

it makes sense but is only tangential to my point.

The staff of the show is paid by Howard, whether it's 112 or whatever. what they don't get, he does. one way or another.

To your point, Robin, Fred, Gary, et al should be shaking in their boots right about now. Sirius CAN fire them

When Rosie left Sirius, they gave her sidekick, Jeanette, her own show. I'd listen to her when I (often) changed the channel to get away from whatever Howard was talking about. She's a quirky, older lady, kind of like Lynn Samuels was - a little annoying, but endearing, and she talked about some off-the-wall things that interested me.

Today, she said they "shitcanned" her yesterday and told her that her last show will be February 15. She mentioned that there are "a lot of changes going on at Sirius".

It caught me off-guard, but I guess they really are going to clean house. Hence, Howard's sudden frenzy of fake meetings and concern about the quality of the show.
    hey now.
