    Anybody watch "The Americans" on FX?

    I am on the fence about watching it....I just feel like Keri Russell was miscast. However, Ain't It Cool News really likes the show. I am wondering if anyone here has watched it and what your opinion was.

    Excellent! We'll have to watch it this weekend. I hope that it is better than The Following. We've watched two episodes of that so far, and it's pretty weak. I'll stick with it a while longer but it's not looking too promising.

    I watched it. I like it, too.

    Russell is good. And the Welsh guy who played a gay dude on Brothers and Siters is really good.

    that is good to hear. I was one of the idiots who watched "Running Wilde" on Fox, simply because it was a Will Arnett vehicle and I am a big Arrested Development fan. Running Wilde was a big steaming pile of shit, and Keri Russell was in it, and I guess it just left a bad taste in my mouth.

    I liked it! Not sure what I expected but I know FX can put out a great series so I gave it a shot. I thought all the actors were well suited to their roles and for a first episode I think they set up the season nicely.

    Aside form it being a spy/espionage show I don't really see any comparisons. If by "compare" you mean if it was as good I'd say I like them both but it's too early to tell if it rivals Homeland.

    That's the problem with FX - their shows are not available On Demand until a week after they have aired. That's why we always record FX shows.

    Watched it and liked it...definitely has potential and loosely based on a true story I believe. If you live in Northern Virginia, you'll recognize a lot of the street names, etc...even though it was probably filmed elsewhere. I think the plot is very similar to a real life spy couple that lived in Arlington, VA during the Reagan administration.

    No kidding? I did not know that! Last time we were in VA we got a speeding ticket. We had one of those PBA get out of jail free cards that we gave to the trooper and he didn't give a shit.

    Which part of Virginia? The Southwestern part of the state is notorious for handing out speeding tickets and also anywhere along I95.
