I bet that kid is gonna have an innie belly button. That's the sign of quality work, you don't get that in canada.

Would it be free if it was the other way around?

Yea but I bet the hospital didn't have a dirt floor.

Cause if that's the case... My wife has always had our kids early and we might head to Canada, let's say, 7 and 1/2 mo.
I told him the same thing, aca. He's still working on the paperwork to get his son home. First he's gotta acknowledge the kids American birth certificate, then get the baby a passport...blahblah. I think he's going to look into this.
We both know what it's like to deal with getting money out of the Canadian government, though. I also think that OHIP has provisions for this - just a matter of paperwork and legwork, and waiting.
It was just the amount that blew my mind...
I have an innie. So do my children.![]()

yeah, you have a point. we rarely ever see a bill here. the one time I had to use my plan for overseas treatment the pricetag itself nearly killed me. I don't think secondary shock death is covered
also, my aunt lived in nyc and had fibroids that needed treatment - my friends here that needed it just did it and that was it - my aunt had some crazy fucking bill that had my uncle ready to break out the blow torch for the rest of them![]()

To give credit back - when my ex mother-in-law got breast cancer, assessed at 3rd stage - the waiting list for treatment in Canada was lengthy. They were willing to pay the big bucks to a US doctor, to be addressed in a faster manner, 'cause time was of the essence.
