At what point does a mother in a hospital room hold up her newborn baby and think, "What a precious child. I think I'll name him..... Quovadus." ???
I've always believed that there should be a rule that says in order to name a child, the parent should be made to spell said name the same identical way three consecutive times (including proper placement of all apostrophes). If they fail, the kid is automatically assigned a single-syllable name. I'm pretty sure that this would ultimately make the world an easier place for morning TV anchors reading about the arrests from the previous evening.
