One person drapes you with a cloth and brushes your hair gets you a beverage, then the stylist (I usually go to a owner who really should receive no gratuity (but I still tip) consults with me. Then he has his assistant help with holding the foils for the hi-lights then they have somone else shampoo you, then they have someone put a hair color on, then owner will cut my hair and then have his assistant blow dry. By the time I leave I think I have shelled out 50 extra bucks in addition to the $200.

I have been to salons with both gay and straight male owners. I went to one, years ago, and the guy was straight (and married) and allegedly was sleeping with his very young front desk receptionist. Apparently her father was none too pleased as he proceeded to come to the salon with a baseball bat to have a little talk with the owner haha.
