    Best Vinyl Packaging?

I just explained to the younger wife how I could flip the inner sleeves in my vinyl copy of Physical Graffiti to change the pics in the windows.

I'm still in my 30s, damn it!

Now she insists she wants a longcat vinyl foldout.

    I've gotta admit she's a genius - however impractical, that's fucking funny.

I ask you old-timers and vinyl snobs, what are your favorite vinyl sleeves?

Don't say The Stones' 'Sticky Fingers' zipper cover. I'm calling that as another example.

Stones had gteat covers - the original Satanic Majesties Request with the 3D pic, the zipper album, Cheech and Chong Big Bambu with the giant rolling paper, The Jethro Tull Thick as a Brick newspaper, etc

    Good one!
    Especially the colored vinyl.
First time I've ever heard it referred to as "marble"... most people I knew thought it was "vomit" colored.
Great album from the era. Haven't played it in years so I don't know if the music still holds up.

Alice Cooper School's Out. It opened up like a school desk and instead of a paper record sleeve, the LP was inside of a pair of underpants

Gentle Giant Octopus. The cover was cut into the shape of the jar.

this is back and front. The artwork was beautiful.

And, of course, The Velvet Underground's iconic Andy Warhol cover of a banana that you could actually peel.

I was a huge fan of The Small Faces & their masterpiece OGDEN'S NUT GONE FLAKE:

If I recall correctly, the first pressings came in a tin pie-pan like film-cannister.

Later editions were issued as traditionally shrink-wrapped vinyl albums but the record itself would wear through the packaging presenting its own particular hell in headaches for store clerks & the inevitable mass returns, etc.

I got hold of a used second copy of the 1st pressing and actually peeled the banana sticker off.
Underneath the sticker was a photo print of the inside of a real banana

Keith Moon. Two Sides of the Moon.
It had a die cut window to reveal Keith mooning the viewer.

Album cover chops seem to be Skytzo's forte, though.

I'm currently perusing '50s refrigerator ads, cos I'm determined to shove Eric the turkey/ham in one.

Also, Jagger looks disturbingly Jeton-esque on that HYSYMBSITS sleeve.

Not their best album, but it's a cool sleeve:
