Anyone here ever run a Marathon, or half-Marathon??

The beautiful city in which I reside has one coming up.... I'm contemplating running the half-marathon (and eventually, the full marathon)
.... How did you train for it & what was your diet regiment leading up to it?

Yep... The Marathon will wind its way about 3 miles from where I live. I know a couple of people that will be running in it. I've never been much of a runner, but after speaking with them, I was intrigued... I've been looking for something that will give me a challenge, as well as keep my head in the right place...

Google "training schedule for marathon or 1/2" and you will find some really good running/training schedules to help prep you for the race. If you give yourself enough time, you should be able to complete the 1/2, no problem. The serious training is usually 6-8 weeks before the actual race, and your distance, pace and elevation change daily.

Nothing. I ride bikes a lot, though. Just enjoy doing it.

Oh yeah. Nothing near spectacular, but then again, I'm not looking to win it, just finish.

A gay event would be going to a Wrestling show & holding up one of those douchey signs...

Setting goals & regularly challenging oneself to go beyond what's normally comfortable, is a necessity for living a fruitful life .... And, it surely beats living vicariously through a bunch of 300 pound blaek guys who chase an elongated ball around for 2 hours every Sunday...
