Yeah, because Elvis was supposed to have 2013 attitudes about homosexuality in the 1960's in front of a bunch of his guy friends. Also, imagine it was a woman ole Gomer sat down and put his hand on the knee of inappropriately. You'd have a problem with that too.

I'm not sure when "tolerance" became confused in the publics mind with "enthusiastic acceptance". it's not possible to tolerate something that you already approve of.
that's precisely what Elvis showed, tolerance. he didn't hit him, he didn't even say anything insulting in gomers' presence. he obviously didn't approve of homosexuality, but who cares? most heterosexual men wouldn't welcome advances like that.
