Songs That Sound Like Other Songs

This is an offshoot of the "copyright infringement" thread I drunkenly posted in the Stern forum.

In this thread: songs that are reminiscent of one another, even if there's no legal case.

I admire Mike Judge for putting "Gone Shootin'" in 'B&B Do America'.

Well, the Fred song sounds ever so slightly like the Spam song.

Also, Taxman by The Beatles; Start by The Jam:
(You only need to listen to first 15secs of both)

In search of a ladder, an unfeasibly small car and Ben Turpin.

Alice Cooper admitted on his radio show that he totally ripped off The Who with this one:

Let's not forget the one John Fogerty got sued on and lost the lawsuit! For plagiarizing his own tune that he'd sold the rights to...

Or George Harrison's plagiarism lawsuit loss in the courts to the The Chiffons as well! (and I'm a Beatles fan)

Coldplay settled with Joe Satriani after he sued them for copyright infringement.

I felt the resemblance between the two songs was kinda superficial; it's a chord progression/melody lots of bands could stumble upon.

My main reason for posting this is the "Coldplay vs. Super Mario Bros." video at the end.

    Sue 'em, Koji Kondo!

Taxman vs Start - I figured that out in High School

Cracked.com has a good article that mentions Deep Purple totally ripped off Gil Evans for Smoke on the Water

There are probably fewer people who remember The Electric Boys than there were band members.

I couldn't even find a YouTube clip to use as an example, but their single "Into the Woods" rips off not one, but two Aerosmith songs: "Last Child" and "Sweet Emotion" (not to mention the Hendrix rip-off intro).

This is a fund thread. Does anyone know where I can find 'the losers' parody 'Leader of the Blacks' and 'Nigger Hatin' Hat'?
