monday sounded like a dr. phil show.
tuesday we learned talking about bad radio equals bad radio.
switching between stern and o&a it was hard to figure out which was worse.
Anthony = Howard + Jackie + Billy West. The true talent of the show. Opie is very good at keeping them on track and introducing new segments. Norton is the best person to lead interviews on the show. But filling up air time with conversational topics like current events or just general banter...the show is deadly awful without Anthony. They had Joe DeRosa on yesterday and I turned it off until the After Show. When Anthony is gone they need only Louis CK, Vos, or DiPaolo to sit in now that Patrice is dead.
Opie, Papa, Jimmy and Sam make for a good show. I know they had that lineup several times in May and June.
Or Opie, Colin, Bobby, and Jimmy.
There's quite a few shows without Anthony that worked out really well in the last year or so.
I was a little bummed Anthony wasn't in for The Governor today, as he's the big Walking Dead fan and got along great with Andrew Lincoln.
opie and anthony - anthony = unlistenable radio. > Howard's Show
It's a shame that more people won't give funny radio a chance. Finally gave up on Howard about 6 months ago, he only wishes he could have somebody as funny as Jimmy on his show. Jimmy is also one of the best I've heard at interviewing people. I've heard some clips on Worst Of were Opie is funny but he is nothing compared to Anthony, Jim, or the comedians that come to help.
The only thing they need Opie for is to say (when Anthony and Jimmy are there) is: "time to take a break, we'll be right back."
Wow, Ronny B not getting any respect here.....On a side note, Tyson sucked balls compared to last time
Listen up assholes...The above is my opinion and doesn't mean shit
Anthony is an unbelievable talent, jimmy is a little jealous bitch. Some of the best shows I've heard was just opie and Anthony shooting the shit with no jimmy.
The best shows of O&A, the ones that are truly comparable to the legendary Stern days with Jackie and Billy, are the days where Jimmy was gone and Patrice O'Neal sat in the studio. O&A have a great dynamic, Anthony is an incredible talent with voices, and is extremely opinionated and articulate. Opie knows how to keep things going and runs the boards as well as anyone which is not an easy task when you're also on microphone. Patrice was arguably the best comic of his generation and easily in the top five greatest stand ups of all time.
The day where Gallagher came on the show and Patrice sat in is still my favorite O&A moment. It's Patrice just relentlessly tormenting Gallagher. And O&A just sit back and keep things as hostile and awkward as possible. It's on par with what Billy used to do with the Jackie Puppet, harassing guests like Conan, for no reason other than to make himself and others in the studio laugh.
