    Blow up Chechnya

Even the Russia hate them. Know for killing anyone from kids to the old. Threat of Islamic terrorism
    Further information: Islamist terrorism*and*Islamism
Islamic terrorism is considered a major threat to the security of the nation[10] with most terrorist activity taking place in Chechnya and Dagestan. The Russian government has banned seventeen terrorist organizations; the Highest Military Majlisul Shura of the United Forces of the Mujahedeen of the Caucasus, the Congress of the Peoples of Ichkeria and Daghestan, Al Qaeda, Asbat an-Ansar, Egyptian Islamic Jihad, Al-Jamaa al-Islami, Jamaat-e-Islami, Muslim Brotherhood, Hizb ut-Tahrir, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Taliban, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Society of Social Reforms (Jamiat al-Islah al-Ijtimai), Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage (Jamiat Ihya at-Turaz al-Islami), al-Haramain Foundation, Junj ash-Sham (Army of the Great Syria), and the Islamic Jihad - jamaat of the mujahedeen.[11]
Many Muslims and human rights activists have criticized the government's counter-terrorism operations, saying they unfairly target Muslims.[12]
    [edit]1999 Russian apartment bombings
    Main article: Russian apartment bombings
The Russian apartment bombings were a series of bombings in Russia that killed nearly 300 people and, together with the Dagestan War, led the country into the Second Chechen War. The five bombings took place in Moscow and two other Russian towns during ten days of September 1999. None of the Chechen field commanders accepted the responsibility for the bombing. Chechen president Aslan Maskhadov denied involvement of his government.
The bombings had stopped after a controversial episode[citation needed] when a similar bomb was found and defused in an apartment block in the Russian city of Ryazan on 23 September. Later in the evening, Vladimir Putin praised the vigilance of the Ryzanians and ordered the air bombing of Grozny, which marked the beginning of the Second Chechen War.[13] A few hours later, three FSB agents who planted the bomb were caught by the local police.[citation needed] This incident was declared to be a "training exercise" by FSB director Nikolai Patrushev.
Former FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko, Johns Hopkins University and Hoover Institute scholar David Satter,[14] Russian lawmaker Sergei Yushenkov, historian Felshtinsky, and political scientist Pribylovsky asserted that the bombings were in fact a "false flag" attack perpetrated by the FSB (successor to the KGB) in order to legitimize the resumption of military activities in Chechnya and bring Vladimir Putin and the FSB to power.[15] Researchers such as Gordon Bennett, Robert Bruce Ware, Vlad Sobell, Peter Reddaway and Richard Sakwa have criticized the conspiracy theories, pointing out that the theories' proponents have provided little evidence to support them, and also that the theory ignores the history of Chechen terrorism and threats made by the militants before the bombings.[16][17][18][19][20]
An official investigation of the bombings was completed only three years later, in 2002. It was conducted by the Russian FSB agency. Seven suspects were killed, six have been convicted on terrorism-related charges, and one remains a fugitive. According to the investigation, all bombings were organized and led by Achemez Gochiyaev - who as of 2007 remained at large.
The Russian Duma rejected two motions for parliamentary investigation of the Ryazan incident. An independent public commission to investigate the bombings chaired by Duma deputy Sergei Kovalev was rendered ineffective because of government refusal to respond to its inquiries.[citation needed] Two key members of the Kovalev Commission, Sergei Yushenkov and Yuri Shchekochikhin, both Duma members, have since died in apparent assassinations in April 2003 and July 2003 respectively. The Commission's lawyer Mikhail Trepashkin has been arrested in October 2003 to become one of the better-known political prisoners in Russia.

Remember that time the Chechen terrorists took that theater, I think it was in Moscow, and Russian forces stormed the joint and killed every fucking terrorist in the building whether they were a threat or not?

    Yeah.

On a good note, this may bring Obama and Putin together.

The one take-away we won't get in the US is WHY a couple of Muslim guys would be so pissed at the US they'd want to bomb innocent people at the Boston Marathon.

I mean, the guys were here in the US for the last decade or something, went to US schools, one was supposedly a med student, etc. What makes a Muslim go all terrorist on us?

Could it be US imperialism in Muslim countries? Could US bombs in Muslim countries piss Muslims off, even those who are in the US?

That's not a justification for what these fellows did but there is a definite cause-and-effect.

A common enemy often brings heads-of-state together. I think this has a chance at impacting geo-politics. What I mean by that is Russia and China have been getting closer while Russia and the US were growing apart. A terror act, apparently committed by Chechens (or at least Chechen born guys) with Muslim world-views is something Putin has combated in Russia for over a decade.

The shared experience may provide a window for US/Russia relations to warm.

    Sad but true.

I'm an anti-violence guy, so it's impossible for me to say these Boston bombers were justified. They weren't.

The point is WHY did they do what they did?

The 9/11 hijackers did what they did because of US involvement in the middle-east. Bin Laden said it himself. But we somehow kidded ourselves into this "they hate us for our freedom" garbage. Hopefully we don't fall for the same ole crapola.

Don't worry about that, we don't have to lift a finger

Putin been brutally cracking down on Chechnya for years and doesn't have to worry about a bunch of pc douchebags in the press/ other policitians crying and complaining about his tactics being too harsh

If anything he'll happily use this as an excuse to do more

putin is a corrupt one way idiot. any co-operation with that fukstik will be shady & one way at best & definately not honored by that midget & i'm sure we will pay for it in the end, as we always do...when the russians get fed up with that form of dictatorship, then we'll talk...we need them to have internal problems to deal with like the chechnyens.

General Patton said that Russians weren't Europeans, they were asians and had a totally different mindset that everyone ignores... He said: The difficulty in understanding the Russians is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian have no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.

Words escape me when I read all the ideas here on how we should bomb a country for what two stupid douche bags from Boston did for who knows what reason. Lets start by arresting them, interrogating them and then executing them. And if a group is behind them then let's go after them and do the same.

There's something to that. However, their own uncle just did an interview and said they were losers who wouldn't settle down and he kept his family away from them, and had for many years. So while our form of imperialism definitely is a factor, you have to realize that often this is a mere rationalization for acting out more than reality of their convictions. Much like serial killers murder a certain "type" of person because they look like someone who rejected them or whatever, they choose symbolic targets to vent their frustrations that may, in reality, have little to do with what's bugging them.

Also, mass migration leads to lots of disaffected "men without countries" who historically have always caused trouble. Poor prospects, not getting laid, rejection by family and society needs an outlet. And often they latch on to politics to vent those frustrations.

This is why you rarely see highly successful, happy, well-adjusted people as terrorists or assassins. The politics is not a cause, it's a rationalization for the act. Because nobody would fist pump someone who killed dozens of people because "chicks don't dig me".
