Howard started the show talking about how he woke up wondering why they get up at 4 in the morning to do the show at 6 in the morning. He said it was the stupidest thing he ever did. He said that was Mel Karmazin's idea. He said he went along with it. Howard said at some point he gets tired and worn down. Howard said he would like to just do it at 7 but everyone freaks out. Howard said there is no rhyme or reason to it. He said it makes no sense. He said it seems important to everyone else so he doesn't want to be called not a team player.

Howard said people will say he doesn't have eye of the tiger. He said if he didn't have that then he wouldn't have to work anymore. He said he enjoys this job.

Robin asked if he's gotten a call from the guy who took Mel's spot. Howard said he did get a call from the guy. He said he wished the guy the best with his new job. Howard said the guy was working there and he's met him a few times before but he didn't remember that. Howard said his name is Jim Meyer. Howard said he hasn't had to sit down and talk to him yet. Howard said he's not sure what he would talk to him about. Howard said he has a lot to say if he does want to talk to him. He said he thinks he could help him out with the company and they could help him out too. Robin said he might have to do that.

Howard said the past couple of years it's been us vs. them there. Howard said he's not sure why that is. He said he has thoughts on how the company could do even better. Howard said it's always useless to talk to those guys though. Howard said he could help but they don't really want to do anything. Howard said he heard that Jim is a great guy so that's really good. Howard said he's a shareholder in the company so that's good. Howard said he thinks that terrestrial radio is dead. He said they keep thinking they're going to be on top. Robin said they think they'll always be there. Howard said he thinks they will.

Howard said his daughter has an iPhone and never listens to regular radio. He said that kids don't want to hear commercials so they want to get new music on YouTube and services like this. Howard said the kids get it from different places and it's not terrestrial radio. Howard said when you're driving around in your car you'll listen to FM if that's all you've got. Howard said these days they have satellite radio installed. Robin said she doesn't really listen to regular radio. She said on occasion she will for news or traffic.

Howard said he thinks he made the right move coming there to do radio. He said he thinks they're better off. When they signed up they only had 400,000 listeners. He said people thought he was insane and now they have 22 million subscribers. He said they're doing great. Howard said there are so many alternatives to regular radio now.
