NYS has some of the most brian-dead representatives in the state legislature

Nanny Bloomie is upstate today addressing the NYS legislature about the Gov's proposed 2013 budget. A major disagreement is a provision Gov Cuomo added last year and renewed this year. He targeted approx 5% of additional NYC Education funds making the money dependent upon the city and teachers' union reaching an agreement over meaningful teacher effectiveness evaluations. Bloomie opposes this as it punishes the kids because the union refuses to negotiate over a merit pay plan.

Today some of the legislature attacked Nanny because her kids' education will suffer because the city and union cannot reach an agreement, like it's the city's fault. The teachers' union has historically opposed merit pay, not just the past 2 years. The gov penalizes the kids because the people can't do something they've been failing to do for about 100 years. way to go cuomo!
